But what do you need? Counselling or Coaching? What's the difference anyway?
Put very simply, it's about the focus of the conversation, with counselling tending to look backwards to explore the why. Why you feel the way you do, are struggling with something specific, or are having difficulties or issues with certain aspects of your inner world. Coaching, on the other hand, is typically more forward facing, looking to explore the what and the how. Coaching sessions are, therefore, a little more action orientated.
Here's the thing though; in our experience you often need a little bit of both and that is where we shine. At Happy Human we take a Person Centred view, a particularly spacious form of support that looks to accompany you wherever you would like to 'go', allowing you to determine the speed and content of the work. Almost 2 decades of counselling experience coupled with years of coaching an in-house team have created a personal brand of compassionate, growthful personal partnering that works, no matter what you need to explore.
Counselling or coaching work always starts with a conversation. No two people are the same, so we'll take the time to get to know you a little and understand what you are looking for and how we might best be able to support you.
First we'll arrange for a free 30 min chat - this is to find out a little but more about you, and for you to meet Cami, our practitioner. It's really important that you feel comfortable and safe before you decide what you'd like to do.
